The Saturday "toy"

Again an official caption, which reads: "US Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit conduct marksmanship training on the flight deck of the USS Essex (LHD 2) May 30, 2007, en route to Australia for exercise Talisman Sabre. The biennial exercise is designed to train Australian and U.S. forces in planning and conducting combined task force operations, which will help improve combat readiness and interoperability. Strangely, though, it is rather reminiscent of another scene, the one that prompted Voltaire's famous remark, in his novel Candide, that in England "it is thought good to kill an admiral from time to time to encourage the others".

Who would you put in front of the guns, and why?
